We have one of General Electric’s most modern and reliable machines, the Lunar Prodigy Advance, for measuring bone mineral density. This test is considered the best and is widely used to diagnose osteoporosis. It is a completely painless examination, with minimal radiation and performed in a minimum of time (a few minutes).
The measurement of bone density or DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) is carried out in the following parts of the body:
+ at the hips
+ at the spine
+ at the forearm
+ Full body
This particular Lunar Prodigy Advance machine has a body composition analysis program. It measures fat mass, muscle and bone mass in grams for the whole body, but also for individual body areas. The amount of fat is also given in percentage. These measurements are highly reproducible, which makes them suitable for monitoring drug therapy, diet and exercise programs, sports activities, and other body composition change programs.
DEXA examinations are performed at our diagnostic center on weekdays from 9:00 – 15:00 in the morning without an appointment and 15:00 – 20:00 in the afternoon by appointment. Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. without appointment.
