Digital Mammography

Unique Mammographer in Halkidiki

Information

We have the only Digital Mammogram in Halkidiki, an innovative new Philips sectra microdose technology machine, which ensures a low dose of radiation and high-definition images.

It is a purely digital machine that is the most modern evolution of the analog mammogram and the primary means of checking for diseases or malignancies of the mammary gland.

It is a test of great diagnostic value that helps women with their annual screening to rule out suspicious findings, as it can detect the disease in its early stages, often before it can be noticed during a clinical breast examination.

Mammography is suitable to accompany an ultrasound check to complete a breast cancer screening.

Mammography examinations are performed at our diagnostic center on weekdays from 9:00 – 15:00 in the morning without an appointment and 15:00 – 20:00 in the afternoon by appointment. Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. without appointment.

Frequently asked questions about Mammography

The American Cancer Society recommends that women have a first baseline mammogram between the ages of 37 and 40 to be used as a reference image for comparison in future screenings.

After the age of 40 every woman should undergo a mammogram once every year. Women with a genetic predisposition, a hereditary history (of breast or ovarian cancer) or a high risk of developing breast cancer are required to start screening at an earlier age with mammography.

It is important to bring with you, unless it is the first time, previous most recent mammogram you have, preferably within six months.
This is necessary, especially when there are findings, for the correct comparison of the new results.
